Walking Out with Awe & Wonder

Updated: Apr 4, 2021

Calling all creatives, storytellers, myth-makers, and conjurers! Join me, Jennifer Comeau, in a part zoom-gathering and part field trip outdoors.

IMAGINE... two characters -- Awe and Wonder -- show up at your doorstep. They'd like to be your companions on a walk outside. Perhaps the characters appear as though from Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Perhaps they appear as elements -- earth, air, fire, or water. Perhaps they are shape-shifters, at once a walking stick and then a raven. Whatever your imagination conjures, one thing is clear: they have arrived to be your teachers, healers, and guides -- or perhaps tricksters -- for a magical walk on the land on or near your home.

In this experience, part zoom-room and part field trip outside, we'll draw upon some of the world's best mythmakers -- Dr. Martin Shaw, Dr. Sharon Blackie, as examples -- to immerse our selves-and-souls in a creative following exercise. Following, as in, adopting a stance of "beginner's mind." Following as in, being willing to be led by the imagination, surrendering our rational minds for an exploration with the imaginal realms.

Who exactly, are Awe and Wonder in your life? What role do they play? How often are they called upon as buoyancy-builders to help us be fully human in these times? Together, let's explore what happens, or fails to happen, when we invite Awe and Wonder into our lives. Check calendar here: https://teamup.com/ks3bcytpjd2v8bus7k/events/900016586

"To live an enchanted life is to be challenged, to be awakened, to be gripped and shaken to the core by the extraordinary which lies at the heart of the ordinary. Above all, to live an enchanted life is to fall in love with the world all over again." -- Sharon Blackie
